Hardware & camera compatibility
Confirm camera, network, and host requirements before choosing on-prem inference or an edge-agent deployment.
Cameras
RTSP cameras and NVRs are supported; ONVIF adds auto-discovery. Cloud-only cameras such as Ring and Nest usually do not expose RTSP.
Host
A typical on-prem workstation benefits from 16 GB RAM. For more cameras, evaluate the inference mode and actual sampling rate.
Network
The on-prem app connects to LAN RTSP directly. Cloud/edge setups need outbound agent connectivity; original recordings can remain on the site NVR.
Multi-camera advice
Prefer H.264 sub-streams and validate mission and alert quality on a small camera set before scaling out.
